BraceBuddy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application BraceBuddy (the "App").

            Privacy First Design
            BraceBuddy is built with a "privacy-by-default" approach. Your most sensitive data—including progress photos and treatment history—stays exclusively on your device. We do not have access to your photos.
        

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)

The following data is stored ONLY on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or stored by us:

Progress Photos: All photos you take within the App are saved to your device's local storage.
Treatment Data: Your daily elastic compliance, streaks, and treatment start/end dates.
Appointment Information: Dates and notes for your orthodontist visits.
App Preferences: Your custom reminder times and notification settings.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

To improve the App and fix technical issues, we collect minimal, anonymized analytics data:

Usage Analytics: We use PostHog to understand which features are most popular (e.g., "user opened the calendar"). This data is anonymized.
Technical Logs: Device type, operating system version, and anonymized crash reports to help us fix bugs.

1.3 Subscription Information

All purchases are handled by Apple via the App Store. We receive an anonymized token from RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. We NEVER see your name, email, credit card details, or billing address.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited data we collect to:

Improve User Experience: Optimize the App based on how features are used.
Technical Support: Identify and resolve crashes or performance issues.
Subscription Management: Ensure you have access to the premium features you've purchased.

3. Third-Party Services

We partner with a few trusted services to provide App functionality:

4. Children's Privacy

BraceBuddy is intended for use by individuals with braces, including minors. We do not knowingly collect "Personal Information" (as defined by COPPA) from children under 13. All treatment data and photos remain on the device and are under the control of the parent or guardian who manages the device.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Since your treatment data is stored locally, you have full control over it. You can delete all your data at any time by:

Using the "Clear All Data" option in the App settings.
Uninstalling the App from your device.

Anonymized analytics data is retained for a maximum of 24 months to help us track long-term App performance.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the anonymized data we collect. However, the security of your local data (photos and treatment history) depends on your device's security settings (Passcode, FaceID, TouchID). We recommend keeping your device updated and secured.
